Legacies and wills

MAKE YOUR LOVE FOR CAVALIER KINGS EVERLASTING.

A gesture of generosity that goes beyond life and reaches the hearts of abandoned and abused cavalier kings.

A MAJOR CONTRIBUTION FOR OUR LITTLE CAVALIER KING FRIENDS TO BE SAVED

With your help, through a bequest in our will, you will help give more strength to our projects, giving us the opportunity to increase our activities in the field oriented toward saving cavalier kings exploited in breeding farms or locked up in kennels; we will be able to take care of more cavalier kings and secure their adoption FOREVER.

We will use your leave to have more strength in its legal battles against kennel lagers that result in mistreatment and exploitation of animals.

Thanks to your gesture of love, we will also be able to increase abandonment prevention activities and through awareness projects, education in schools, days and events to bring those who do not yet know about the pet world closer to it.

These are campaigns that have already been active for years, but will be able to get new life thanks to your help!

FAQ

What can I leave to FFL in my will?

If you have always loved animals and wish a better world for them, you can name our association in your will. Your gifts will be used for projects dedicated to the care of abandoned cavalier kings in need of care.

Your entire estate: subject to the portion reserved for your legal heirs, if any.

Movable property: valuables

Real estate: apartments, stores, land

Life insurance policies: you may designate FFL RESCUE ODV as the beneficiary of the policy or name it in your will

Securities, investment funds and sums of money

Can I leave the inheritance to my animals?

Unfortunately, this is not possible because Italian law does not provide for it since animals are considered, under the Civil Code, movable property.

You can, however, leave your inheritance to an association that, like FFL RESCUE ODV, will take care of them.

In this case you will have to write your will expressly mentioning the restriction that your beneficiaries can have your inheritance on condition that they take care of your animals.

How to make a will to FFL RESCUE ODV?

You can choose to make a public or private will allocating part or all of your estate to FFL RESCUE ODV by indicating our tax ID number 92192160346.

In the case of a public will, you will need to contact your trusted notary who will draw up your will expressing your wishes. Turning to a notary is definitely the safest choice because he or she will tell you the correct procedures that will ensure that your wishes are respected. We recommend that you send a copy of your will to all the beneficiaries named in it.

If you choose a private will, you can draft a so-called holographic will in your own hand. In this case we advise you to give one copy, again handwritten, to all beneficiaries and one to your notary or to a trusted person who has no interest related to your will. In the holograph will you should indicate your first name, last name, the date of the day you make it, the details of the beneficiary or beneficiaries, and put your signature at the bottom

.

If I have legal heirs, can I make a will to FFL?

Of course. Making a will in favor of FFL RESCUE ODV does not affect the rights of your legitimate heirs. In fact, to them the law reserves the so-called 'legitimate share' that protects your loved ones and must be respected by law.

What is a legacy?

A legacy is defined as a bequest of a specific property (a real estate, a sum of money, a piece of land, an object of value) that the testator allocates to a person or association, mentioning it in the will. The person who receives the legacy is called a legatee.

What is the difference between heirs and legatees?

The heir succeeds the de cuius in all or part of the estate (e.g., one-third or one-eighteenth) thus inheriting both assets and liabilities. The legatee, on the other hand, acquires a specific property right (a piece of real estate, a sum of money) only from the time of the testator's death, and thus any liens on the property do not affect him or her.

In what ways can I preserve my will?

Should you decide to make a private or holograph will, it is advisable to deliver an original copy, so handwritten by you, to each of your beneficiaries. In addition, you can also deliver it to your trusted notary and/or a loved one who can protect your will from omissions and theft.

On the other hand, should you decide on a public will, the notary himself will keep it. Again, you can decide to share your gesture of love right away with FFL RESCUE ODV by sending a copy of your will and/or leaving your notary's contact information. Again, you will be able to appoint a person you trust to execute your will (this figure is called an "executor")

If I have no relatives, to whom will my inheritance go?

If you have expressed no will as to who your beneficiaries will be and there are no relatives up to the sixth degree of kinship, your inheritance will go to the state.

I have already written my will, can I change it?

You can always modify your will by adding or removing beneficiaries. If they will be minor changes you can add your new will to your will; if they are major changes, you will have to make a new will.

If there are multiple wills, the one with the most up-to-date date date will have value.

Will FFL have to pay estate taxes for my inheritance?

No,since it is a non-profit organization in its own right, it is exempt from paying inheritance taxes.
